Dr. Simjee is incredibly empathetic and solutions-focused. He has been a pillar of support for the past two years, and when you have a psychiatrist who genuinely cares about your wellbeing you feel like you are walking on solid ground.

Telehealth patient · January 2026

His appointments are focused and never rushed. He always takes the time to listen and adjust treatment when needed. Knowledgeable, responsive, and easy to talk to.

Telehealth patient · October 2025

Always positive and nonjudgmental. Despite needing several trials of different medications due to side effects, he always had a next step to offer. As a medical professional myself, I would highly recommend his services.

Medical professional · October 2025

He took me on knowing I only had a few sessions before losing insurance, and dove headfirst into doing the most we could with the time we had. Clear questions, empathetic listening, real progress.

Telehealth patient · July 2025

Dr. Simjee actually cares about you and tries to get to the root of the problem. He will advocate for you and put in the extra effort.

Where I have been dismissed or ignored by past providers, Dr. Simjee has consistently asked the right questions and made thoughtful adjustments after checking in with me.

Telehealth patient · July 2025

Thoughtful, proactive, a great listener, compassionate, and knowledgeable. Not much else to ask for in a psychiatrist.

He creates a safe, comfortable space where it is easy to open up and feel truly heard. His calm, supportive presence has made a big difference in my life.

Telehealth patient · April 2025

I have been working with Dr. Simjee for more than a year. The ability to broach difficult subjects has never been an issue, and being able to admit my failings without worry of judgment is incredibly comforting.

Long-term patient · February 2025

His approach goes above and beyond what I have ever experienced in a psychiatrist. He is a very attentive prescriber and is truly looking to help me have a more fulfilling life, not just send me off with a pill.

Areas of focus

What I treat

Mood and anxiety disorders

Depression, generalized anxiety, panic, and bipolar spectrum conditions. Treatment combines medication management with structured follow-up.

Reproductive psychiatry

Mental health care during pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and other reproductive transitions. This is an under-served area, and one where medication decisions require specific training.

Addiction medicine

Treatment for alcohol and substance use disorders, informed by clinical experience in detox and residential settings. The approach is non-judgmental and grounded in harm reduction where appropriate.

ADHD, trauma, OCD, insomnia, and psychosis

Full-spectrum adult and adolescent psychiatric care, with treatment plans built around the patient.

How I work

My approach

My training has taken me through outpatient clinics, inpatient units, emergency departments, and substance detox programs. That range matters. It means I have seen what acute crises look like, and I bring that perspective to outpatient work where the goal is to keep people stable, functional, and out of those higher-acuity settings.

Medication is one tool among several. I am comfortable adjusting, tapering, or stepping back when that is what the situation calls for.

My practice is highly responsive and we work hard to schedule patients within days.
